      Hi again

Another motor another question. So I am going to start a 30 hp in a barrel, any tips, does it have to be in neutral, throttle restriction right?

It is a bear to pull over and have a prospective buyer coming to have a look at my " running outboard"

      Thanks

Water a couple of inches above the first bulge above the flat cavitation plate (water pump bulge).

Shift in neutral, then advance throttle as far as it will go in neutral. Shifting into gear will seriously empty the barrel.

Leave the hose running and barrel overflowing.

Yeah, it will be a bear to pull when not held down properly.

Thanks Frank, got it set up and started rather easily cant wait now to get it either sold or on the water. i had to really keep the throttle low or the starter wouldn’t engage properly, but once i had got that part figured out it started and purred like a kitten. Chris P here did a lot of the work mechanically restoring the motor and he did an excellent job.

Thanks again to everyone that helps us interested but un-gifted fellows on the site.
