An AOMCI member has this engine I am helping with.
The Merc Shop manual does not list a max ignition timing for it other than set timing to desired value?
Do you know a max ignition timing value either in degrees BTDC or distance of piston 0.xxx" before TDC.
Would like to set ignition timing with inductive buzz box and dial indicator to get both pistons firing at same BTDC position.

      Thanks

When we raced the standard 20H’s we set the timing at 325 +. The 20H conversions were down to 265, but might be less as I never raced one.
Pete, I have my MK25 set to about 300.

yes the 20H runs higher since it runs at high RPM’s and does not need the mid range torque.

John is that Mark 25 used for pleasure running with a 0.300" setting ❓
                  Tks Pete

Quite a spread in timing piston position. I get the race settings but the owner of the Mark 25 will run it on a 12 ft aluminum boat and is not racing it just lake running, slow, mid and full throttle. So might be best to use the 0.235" or a bit higher ❓
                    Thanks all

New gas would that be E10 ❓ He will use E free in the Mark 25. I will start with .235 max, there is a mag stop that can be adjusted to increase advance if desired to try.
