That number is not valid. Good website!

      Thanks. Steven

My friend found an OEM carb kit for the 58 Evinrude. It has the cork float.

Has anyone had luck using some type of coating to coat the float and make it inpenitratable to fuel and seals it?

        Thanks!

That OEM carb kit has a cork float that is sealed with an ethanol resistant coating. I still try to avoid using ethanol blended fuel in my outbiards, but those cork floats in the new kits are supposed to be compatible. No need to seal it with anything else over the top of the OEM coating.

What about using 100 low lead aviation fuel?

Lots of opinions on this. Here is mine. Save your money. Use regular grade pump gas and use it up. Don’t leave it sitting in the tank. 87 octane is plenty for your motor.

I rebuilt the carb yesterday and seemed to do the trick. Thanks for the info on low lead vs unleaded fuel.

I use 100% gasoline, available at many gas stations here in Tennessee.

There are a few non ethanol fuel stations but not in our immediate area.
