Took off bottom bolt on the coupler under access plate, and the lower unit dropped about 1/4" which I think that was just slack in rod. Now it won’t budge any more. Rod stuck in coupler. Don’t want to ruin anything.Have it soaking in PB blaster.
Any tips to get it off?

Remove the top bolt. You can then deal with the lower one once you get it off.

Are you sure it is the coupler that is stuck? Sure hope it is not the driveshaft….

You did completely remove the clamp bolt and not.just loosen it and leave it in the clamp, correct? If so, definitely try removing the top bolt as well like Frank suggested. Maybe it will let go on that side instead.8

Thanks Frank. Removed the top bolt as well, and with a bit of gentle help with a pry bar, it popped off.
