      I need to inspect the impeller on this 83 Johnson 4hp and not sure how to disconnect the shift rod, but I knew someone out there would know.

        I believe the clutch rod (27) should just slide out of the gear case. . . 😎

          Correct. It just slides out.

              I find it not the easiest to reinstall sometimes
