      Hi All

I have picked up a little Johnson and working my way through getting it to run properly, someone has done some work on it at some stage and one of the pistons have been put back in the wrong way around.

While correcting the piston and double checking things along the way I have noticed that there is no top crank seal.
I have searched online and no parts diagram that i have seen shows any seal as such, only an "oil slinger" (which is there)

Can anyone confirm if this is correct or not for me please?

      Many thanks
      Rod

You are correct. The slinger throws the oil into that channel and the channel drains into the intake manifold. It works well unless the tiny hole in the read plate gets plugged. Then you get an oily magneto. . . 😀

Awesome, thanks for your reply and explanation Garry, I was struggling to find anything about it or how it is meant to be.
Im looking forward to getting it back together and…… running it….. hopefully haha
          Thanks again
