This water pump housing PN 303070 is a bit corroded. I have a later version PN 313543 almost identical. The fins on top surrounding the driveshaft don’t go all the way to the top of the housing. Will this newer one work ok?
Just to the rear of the shift rod and seal, there is a deep pocket between the shift rod and the exhaust exit. I have dug thoroughly around down in there for quite a while and see no drain hole. I also don’t see any exit hole that pocket would drain to.
The gear lube to use these days would be BRP Multi Vis?

Hi-Vis is fine for your FD. Or any 80-90 Outboard Gear oil.
