Anyone know if there were any changes/improvements made to the 1958 Evinrude 18 hp Fastwin over the 1957 model?

I’ve been searching for a ’57 or a ’58 model in excellent condition (not refurbished) to buy for quiet awhile now and was just wondering what changes, if any, other than paint schemes and the white throttle hand grip were made.

Speaking of that hand grip I wonder who at Evinrude thought it would be a good idea to put a white grip on an outboard motor where a person is handling fish and all other kinds of stuff that would make it look like crap the first day it was put on a boat?

58’s have a kill button to do the deed instead of having to choke the motor to death, as is done on the 57’s. Other than that and some cosmetics, they are pretty much the same.
