      It looks like a pawl to me but i can’t say for sure. It mat not even be for an outboard. Found it on my work bench today while doing some spring cleaning.

        Looks like the washer on old OHV valve cover Chevey engine.

          Or a choke unloader off a downdraft carb of some kind.

            Yeah, I do recognize it, but now I’m wracking by brain trying to remember. Ar-r-r-r-r-r–g-g-h

            EDIT: Maybe, just MAYBE mercuryman is correct. Been working on a Chevy?

              Nope, no chevy. Wierd. The last chevy I had was a 1981 chevette. Can’t believe I admitted it! 😆

              No telling how or when it got there. So definitely not an outboard part, eh? Into the recycler it goes!

                Looks like the washer the holds the springs in place on cars equipped with drum brakes.
