In one of your pictures, two condensers are visible, near to where the spark wires go under the flywheel. So I’m going to assume there are 5 of everything under there. Must be cramped.
With 10 magnets around the circumference of the flywheel, one coil and set of points could fire the plugs with the flywheel also acting as the distributer. A ridgid steel tube/pipe on bottom of the piston could go through a brass bushing in a plate at the base of the cylinder that would seal the crankcase and charge the combustion chamber while the bottom of the tube would connect to 4 connecting rods to the master connecting rod going to the fifth cylinder. That would account for the large crankcase. It almost has to be a one of a kind prototype.
I ran across this unusual power head and jet drive unit and am looking for any information concerning it, I believe it is a 5 cylinder two cycle radial engine. The flywheel has McCullough Corporation Scott Division stamped on the rim. Any help in discovering information on it would be greatly appreciated.

Rick, your motor would make an interesting article for the Outboarder.
Don’t know about that…..would love to see a radial drone from Mac though.
I remember 2-cylinder opposed and 4-cylinder opposed Mac drone engines but never a radial.
They even had counter-rotating propellers on at least one of their engines.
