Been repainted?

Does this lauson look like it’s been repainted? If not, it looks to be a pretty nice original.

I’m guessing repainted….being that the paint looks great…but all the decals are missing.

I was looking at that motor, last week and wondered the same thing ….
I wasn’t sure that color blue matched pictures I found of other examples.
Also, with paint that nice, why wouldnt the decals be present?
Those were just my thoughts, but the motor looks nice, anyway!
I’m not an expert, so I can only guess!

I have one of these motors with original paint. It looks like the color blue used is a shade darker than original. I guess that the color would fade to the correct shade over time.

Yes, repaint. The picture with the instruction plaque has a bit of overspray on left side and small run where paint seeped thru masking probably. The silver or dull aluminum looks original though. Still a nice motor.

Good eye squier! The absence of decals hadn’t even registered with me. Gettin’ old and stupider i guess!

Doesn’t look bad for $125.00. I rarely see decals on these motors. Paint is usually good on this brand.

I don’t remember the original paint being that shiny pretty. Looks like modern paint to me.
