I found a "revised" copy of this same data, but instead of "Serial Number" it’s
calling the 70,000 series numbers "Part Numbers".

I emailed the owner of the old Bendix webpage. He said it "disappeared" about
a year ago, and Comcast wasn’t able to retrieve it. He said he might put
the site back up this winter.
I suggested that if he doesn’t put the site back up, that it would be great
if the information ended up at AOMCI.

        quote wbeaton:

I don’t know where they got those numbers either. There used to be a great Bendix website, but it’s gone now. It was filled with great information. I wish the info was passed the AOMCI before it went away. Anyway, I’m sure the first number in the serial number is the year.
