      Just seen this on Craig’s, and was wondering what the lever
      in the boat is all about. I’m guessing it’s NOT an emergency brake. 😕

        It has an inboard engine with a gear box, and that is the shift lever

            The throttle is the lever on the center of the steering wheel

              I’m not sure who sold it, but I remember an ad in a performance boat magazine, maybe Powerboat, in the 80’s that had a "brake" system that dropped a small ram a few inches below the transom to help slow the boat. Didn’t last long, probably too unsafe at outrageous speeds… 🙄

                  That emergency break ram had a tendency in a fast boat to push back at the bottom and throw water into the back of the boat . . . 😆
