While salvaging parts from some classic carbs, I came across these two filter screens which have been slightly modified. They must of had a fuel flow problem so decided to cut and drill the filters to try and fix it. This must have been done by the same guy who did the spline repair I posted earlier and I’m wondering why they just didn’t remove the screens instead of damaging them?

I put a couple in parts cleaner and ended up with a handful of sand . . .
            😕 😆

the problem with the filters is they build up a bacteria on them you can blow thru them but fuel is restricted. found this out on a 70 Chevelle years ago paper are not affected.
