I have a 1931 model 902 Sportfour that started, but ran poorly on the lake. Seemed fine when dry fired. I had cleaned the carb, changed plug wires and checked mag. The motor kept loping- never able to build up speed. No position of the high speed needle would help.

Well, I took both needles out and re cleaned. Looked down below the needles, and didn’t see any jets! I’m thinking there should be jets screwed in below the needles. Also, the high speed needle has a flat on end, not a point. Can somebody set me straight on this? Dave Bono

Not sure what year Speedfour the parts sheets are for, but
        maybe it will help.

The carb needles are supposed to be pointed (tapered) and there are brass seats screwed in for them to fit into.

tried to post pics of my Jr Quad carb but no luck, keep getting a server error message.
