      The one I have was full of water–crankcase, carb, fuel pump and lines. Wondered why, until I looked at the generic plastic tank that came with it. There’s a depressed area around the pickup tube fitting that seems ideal for collecting water and leaking it into the tank. And any tugging on the hose tends to loosen up the fitting. What a POS design.

      I wondered about the throttle cable usage. Why did they go this way when the bevel gear design has worked well for so many years? Push-pull cables tend to work OK when new but almost always give trouble as equipment ages…..

        Unfortunately, the truth is simply due to a cost savings, the cable set up is cheaper to produce. Too bad they don’t pass on the savings to us when we try to buy new cables!
