Restoring a rudder-twin and it seems to me that the bushing for the timer is awful sloppy. I have attached a video that shows what I mean. Is it supposed to be this sloppy? If not, how can I fix it?

I have not worked on them BUT is that screw an adjustment?

Yes, it is an adjustment. I believe that adjustment is to give it friction so the timer won’t move on its own. I don’t think it should take up the slop…. should it? Am I wrong? Advice?

That is the friction the adjustment screw and I would think that screwing it in would fix the problem.
If that doesn’t do it, I would suggest you fit a suitable piece of shim metal as well.

That’s pretty loose. It’ll work if you can use the tension screw to keep it in place, but it may drag on the tank.

I’ll see if I can find some shim material. If not I will tighten the tension screw. The motor probably won’t get near enough use to matter but since it is apart, might as well fix it right.
