Just picked up a 1955 15HP Super Fastwin Aquasonic with a bad lower unit.
Can anyone tell me what year and model Evinrude or Johnson I can swap in?
      Thanks,
      Bob D

Too many to list. Generally speaking 12-15-18-20-25hp with 5-bolt gearcases. Internal parts vary, but complete unit should bolt up and work.

          The 1955, ’56 & ’57 use the same drive shaft – those should work . . . 😉

you say it is a 1955 "super fastwin"….Don’t think they made the super fastwin in 1955….You will need to know the exact year because the gearcase housings were changed in 1955 adding the large retaining bolt in the rear….Housings won’t interchange with older model 15hp fastwins….

Don, I guess my motor ain’t so super. Thanks for keeping me honest. I got it mixed up with the earlier models. It’s definitely a 15014.
                  Thanks,

Interesting picture. Must be a pre-production picture because it shows a 4-bolt gearcase, whereas a "real" 15014 has a 5-bolt gearcase.
