Saw this and was curious if offered by Evinrude and when. Maybe the early teens through the 1920’s when Evinrude went by Evinrude Motor Company. I haven’t found anything on them online. Anyone seen one of these or might know their origin and application. Thanks in advance for any help.

I can’t give you any info or history on the bow eye, but at one of our meets several years ago there was a row boat there that had that bow eye on it. Also had an early Evinrude Row Boat motor on the transom, sharp looking rig!

Evinrude offered 2 models of boats in the late teens or early 20’s. One was a flat bottom and the other was a round bottom. This bow eye would be from one of those.

To me, the holes look like rivet holes, not wood screw holes. Could it be from a metal boat? Were there metal boats in the 20’s?

This particular one appears to be cast iron and not bronze or brass. Anyone know if might have been originally plated or just painted?
