Not sure of the terminology, but the pin in the gearcase housing (that keeps the bow end (not the one nearer to the prop) bushing of the lower unit from rotating?) is completely worn down. I tried searching for past posted information, but I think my lack of proper terminology may be hindering my efforts. I know I saw a video or read an article on how to replace this pin when doing my last (first ) rebuid, but I can not find anything in regard to replacing it.

Can anyone offer me a lead on where to find a how-to-do article?

Thanks for the hand up with this.

It is not worn down, it is pushed down into the hole. Happens ALOT. You can drill it out, and replace it, or simply leave it in, and drill a new hold beside it, and install a new bearing guide pin. I find drilling a new hole easier.

Item #33 (first picture) shows qty of 2. In other words, one fore and one aft.

Good eye Frank. I was looking at the wrong end . . . 🙄
