I took my 4441 Fastwin out for a run recently. Everything was fine until the float needle stuck and it would not stop leaking, even with a slight tap on the carb body in an attempt to clear whatever was holding it open. When I dissembled the carburetor I found small chunks of old gasket sealer in the float bowl and could see the threads on the plug in the float bowl, along with several other areas, had been coated with some sort of sealer which partially dissolved from gasoline over time. The needle seat was plugged with the stuff. It’s a wonder it ran at all. Made sure the cork float floats and put it back together which fixed the problem.
