Don’t know why I didn’t think of this before but I found it is easy to remove old gaskets if you heat them up with a propane torch beforehand. Got all the old gaskets off in one piece so I can use them for patterns to make new ones. Most of you probably know this, my mind is not as sharp as it once was.

heat gun might be better……get’s hot enough, but doesn’t have that extreme heat of the flame’s tip

and for replacing "flying" small parts like miniature cotter pins on carburator linkages and what nots Dollar store hobby section has lots of small clips, split rings, stainless steel wire , brass wires etc… and from the fishing box small brass swivel for tying hooks to mono are also a fine replacements ..

Thanks for the tip, a heat gun worked great with no residue left behind.

I’m still spending my import pennies just like domestics here in the mitten. 😀

Save them and they may be worth something someday as antiques 😉
