      Are they supposed to be set to open to 020 at the point the flywheel & armature index lines line up?

        Good morning
        It’s been awhile since I’ve done one but I believe the points should just be opening when the marks line up.
        It just takes a little time getting them to open at the marks and then a max opening of .020.

          Thanks..I’ll try that; is opening much wider after tthe index lines.

            Got the knack and did the same on a 1935 OBL-70 MasterTwin for it’s 1st startup run today. Thanks! Tomorrow will be the turn of the ’29 P-45 which didn’t want to run properly when I finished it last year….
