      quote SquierKA39:

They all had the hole in the exhaust housing. The hand operated lever was an option as best I can tell. I have some with it and some without all the way thru the line of K motors. But, under the carb in the exhaust housing elbo is a small relief that opens with the syncromised carbs. That is what replaced the leg relieve. Look on your Later K motor and you’ll see it.
The Lever on exhaust isn’t even pictured in the parts manual, I’m not sure how some motors got it and some didn’t.

I’ll have to peek at my KA-10 or KS-15 to see what you’re talking about
regarding the syncronized lever operating a exhaust relief.

My K-50 does have the hand operated exhaust cut-out on the back
of the cylinder, and from what I can tell, mine motor looks
just like the earlier one in the AOMCI classified.

Just got the gear case bolted up to the mid section, next
comes the power head. Nice to see some of it going back
      together.
Have the gas tank to fix. One mounting ear broke off.
A dent in one side. Not sure if I’ll attempt some heat
and air pressure on it or not.
The ice went out on the lake across the road last night,
so Spring is finally official !

      Prepare to be boarded!
