      What size helicoil would I use for a stripped fuel inlet? 54 Johnson 3hp. Is it regular course thread or pipe taper?

        Not sure of the answer to either question. Are you asking about the threads in the float bowl? I would take the fuel line out and check the threads against a thread gauge and go from there.

          I believe that model has an inverted flare fitting on the pipe. Hole in the float bowl to match. If it is stripped, probably best cure is simply replace the float bowl.
