      Does anyone know where I can buy a C-91-29950 gear case cover tool? This tool also removes the water pump cover. It also services many other Mercury lower units below 35HP.

            I wouldn’t want to try to make one myself for $70.00. It would end in disaster. That’s a good deal. You really should have the right one for the cover nut. You can sometimes cobble stuff up for the water pump cover but the gear case cover nut is inset.

              when using I always put a spacer and prop nut on over the tool till it is loose so I don’t mess up the cover.
