      Hello,
I recently acquired some old motors from a farm sale. Both are in relatively good condition and both have spark when cranked over. I would like to try getting them started. The first motor from what I can deduce from the serial number is a 1970 Evinrude 25hp with electric start. The second is a Mercury Mark 55. What would be the correct fuel to oil mix ratio for each motor?

      Thank you,
      Carl

The Evinrude would require 50:1 but I’m not sure about the Merc.

merc can use 50-1 I would use a little richer maybe 40-1 originally before 50-1 oil came out it used 25’1 merc then recommended there 50-1 when it came out in the mid 60’s.
