I have a 1969 (I think, plate is missing) Evinrude 25 hp. Am missing the hood. Can anyone advise what hoods would fit? I don’t care a lot about Johnson vs Evinrude but am not sure, from looking at pics, that the pan is the same. Right now this partial motor has a blue pan and powerhead but a while leg.

I believe you better look at those pan numbers again. The Evinrude in ’69 still had the what I called the banana cowling while the Johnson is the more conventional motor cover. The lower pans are totally different. Evinrudes were the same from about 1963 maybe. Didn’t look at all the details. Seems the latch may have changed in there somewhere?

Yes, I thought the pans were different. I like the looks of the 50’s motors better.

If it’s an Evinrude pan, then lids from Evinrude 18’s starting in 1961 should fit.
By the time the 22ci 25hp came out, I think Johnson legs/pans were dark (green?)
Pretty sure the Johnson pans taper in on both front and rear.
