According to the Cylinder Index quotient, I have a long way to go before I max out, as my CI is currently less than half my age. My wife will be delighted to hear this….

Like it says at the bottom of my posts… 😀

If you have too many, AND not enough, you're a collector.

My C.I. is darn near double my age – and it keeps going up! motors seem to be multiplying in my pole barn!

I prefer to add oil to the tank, tip the tank upside down to coat the top inside area as well as the sides.
the tank can be occasionally rotated during storage by placing it on it’s sides, end or top to keep oil in contact.
If moisture had entered the tank, with or without gas in it, the seasonal heating and cooling will have condensation on the inside top of tank. Especially, I think, if gas is left in the tank.

This is a primary area to be corroded.
I have found most rust in solution coming from the inside top of tank.

My C.I. was already above my age prior to me collecting outboards… and now my outboards (motor count, not cylinder count) is way above my age. It’s a good thing this quotient automagically adjusts for collection inflation. 😯
