Alternative meaning from urban dictionary. Penrod was one of the mates on the Flying Dutchman…Also a young boy character in a series of books (1914) and movies..last was 1961.

Penn manufactured rods and reels. Maybe "Pennrod" was the name they used on their rods?? So I thought that maybe they sold a line of small gasoline outboards probably made by some one else.
