      Good morning gentlemen!
What size threaded rod will i use to install the muffler wrap and lower muffler end cap?
Will i use a nut on top and bottom or is it drilled and tapped?
      Thanks
      Jim

That’s an early manifold. What’s the serial number?
I don’t recall if my 14 is threaded through. I think it is. I’ll look when I get home from work.

That is an interesting mash up of parts you got there… The manifold for that year should be wet, that one is dry and lack any markings…that puzzles me… threaded rod I think nut on top…. Bottom depends on that of manifold and that one messes with my head…

Bottom is tapped 1/4 X20 I believe. I use a 1/4 brass rod, threaded on both ends and have it stick out the top about enough for a nut and lock washer. I am sure if I am incorrect, I will be smartly corrected.

                  yes, I did
but, if it has an aluminium carb, lower unit and a ID plate with the "K" model
than it is NOT a mash up of parts
lets wait if there comes more info

I’m back! This is a lightweight SN K1598. Some of you guys saw it at Constantine in2017. Carb is aluminum, lower unit is brass. It is bent, busted and broke in a lot of places but it’s getting a new muffler can. One piece at a time as Johnny cash would say.
