The way I do it, the lead that goes to the mag plate is bare but a put some heat shrink on the lead that goes to the points.

I`m starting to re-assemble this motor. Does it matter which end goes to the mag plate or the points? Thanx.

OK, can we simplify this? Which ones do I order and where do I order them from?

Digi-Key supplies them but first you will have to know the microfarad (uF) rating of the ones your motor needs.

Here are links to 0.10, 0.15, and 0.22 uF caps from Digi-Key. You can choose your country in the top right corner.

I ordered some caps and a power supply recently and it arrived in in 24 hours! That’s among the fastest shipping I’ve ever seen in Canada!
