Hello! On a Mark 55, I have removed the impeller, impeller pin and pinion nut. Is it possible to heat the lower body and ‘tap’ out the driveshaft/water pump cartridge? I tried this technique but nothing moved. I don’t want to break anything so I thought I should ask. I had the driveshaft in a vice and was hitting the lower unit with no luck. Thanks in advance.

Some come out easy others will fight until out. Use heat make sure vise is tight to driveshaft. There is a tool for this works most of time as long as you have a good grip with vise. Here is a link to the tool.

Thanks for the replies! I will see if I can muscle it out, if not will go the tool route.

Had to get the tool and it worked great! Took some muscle but it slid out. Thanks for the tips!
