            I have seen a couple with the Elgin brand name on them… not sure who made them though.

                  This boat is registered as an Elgin although I believe it is a Speedliner. The only I.D. is on the trailer. The torsion bar suspension is different. A spring inside of an axle on two tubes that pivot and hold the hubs.

                    Dexter still makes those rubber torsion axles. Have one under our Casita travel trailer. 3500 pound capacity.

                      Those rubber-in-compression axles seem to be common on RVs. We have one under our tent (pop-up) trailer. For some reason they don’t seem much used on boat trailers. Why is that? Corrosion from water entry?
