      I Kevin, good to hear from you! Do you have any big sockets? My KF7 mercury flywheel nut came right off with a 1 1/4 socket. Maybe mine is weird or something but you could try one on yours.

      I second this method. It has worked pretty well for me on Mercurys, both for removal and using a torque wrench to install. Hopefully it is 1 1/4″ or less. It’s very hard to find individual sockets that are bigger than that without either paying through the nose (Snap-On, etc) or having to buy a whole set. (HF)

        Same nut used on the Martin 200. I just use a flywheel strap & a large Battery pliers to take off & put back on & never had a problem.

          It has been years ago but I took a cheap 12 point socket, smaller than 1-1/4″, and ground some teeth out of it so the fit was perfect. I’m pretty sure I got this tip out of one of our old
          “Antique Outboarder” magazines.

          "Fox News" isn't.
