      Hi fellas after just over a month of back and forth negotiations on a price i have finally purchased the fd-10 it looks nice next to my 57 18hp johnson i appreciate all the info

            I have not downloaded any manuals yet I’m pretty computer Illiterate but i definitely need to figure that out .. as far as the price it has new coils ,new impeller , all new seals in the lower unit , and rebuilt carb , all oem parts he wanted $ 300 i got it for $ 150 i hope i did ok

              no so bad price wise……. if you figure parts costs … cheaper than taxes on a new engine…:-)

              downloading the book is easy as pie …. find it….copy it…(download) . in a PDF file then print it on double sided pages in black and white to keep cost down
              and have it wire bound at a local printer shop. 🙂

                Yeah, if it has all those new parts and the work was done well, then that price is good. The seller probably lost money on it, which is par for the old outboard course.

                  15hp are kinda hard to find around here not sure if they are harder to find in general but i didn’t want to miss out on this on

                    I think some of them had the poor quality lower crank shaft seal and they also had plain bearings on the small end of the connecting rod….at least mine did….that probably led to the earlier demise of many of them. 15s are cool but the 18s were a big improvement, in my opinion.
