        Thank you!

I used the good 3M Scotch Green masking tape.  1/4 inch tape to follow the curves, 3/4 inch tape to fill in and fasten plastic.  I learned you have to rub those tape edges down good to make sure the paint doesn’t bleed underneath.

Those are some really crisp paint lines.  Even better than the 3M masking tape to prevent edge bleeding is to start with 1/4″ or even 1/8″ 3M vinyl tape at the paint edges/curves, then cover that with masking paper with the 3M masking tape.   And yes, burnishing the edge tape is critical.   No criticism intended here – you really did a great job!

            Thanks Bobw.

For a first attempt,  I’m pretty happy with it.  Maybe someday I’ll get to do another one.  I didn’t mention I had a guy bead blast that down to bare aluminum.  At least on the outside anyway.  I didn’t see too much importance in taking it down to bare metal on the inside.  But I think that made a difference in the final finish.

As a first time “amateur” attempt, I would think
you’re embarrassing many that claim to be
              professionals. Excellent work.
