Well I’ve typed stuff out twice now and added pictures, but the site just blows it up when its uploading. I see it this morning that it did load the comments I made but with only half of the images. Sounds like you have a bead on it anyway

April 5, 2026 at 10:32 pm #314241JACQUES, ya, that line was plugged down a bit, but I feel like the bend I had created a leak on that nipple, shortened it and tighten down the bolt at the end of the line, feel like it was working better now. Good enough to wait a few weeks for a test run on real water.
PM T2, looks like all your posts came through, nice work on that rebuild! Not to far from me, I’m out in Metro Detroit! I’ve worked through just about everything on this engine except the main engine seals. I have noticed a bit of sludgy oil from time to time, likely need to check that next, maybe just make it through one more season now that I have it firing in the bucket today. If she does well out on the water I might even consider touching up the paint 😀
Thanks again all!
April 6, 2026 at 8:29 am #314294sludgy oil is normal… 2 strokes spit out lots of good gas and oil out the exhaust ports, and crankcase gas &oil juice is expelled via the purge valve

April 6, 2026 at 9:11 am #314300I am confused. Are you using the original pressure tank, or has it been converted to single line/fuel pump? You speak of pumping up the “bulb” which would indicate the single line system, but I see the double line connections. In any event, there is an issue if you must pump the primer bulb/button continuously. That manifold pressure line looks oversize and leaking at the connection. You should not need one of those worm clamps if the line connection is a good fit. Keep in mind that a poor pressure line connection or leak will also cause the engine to idle lean…
April 6, 2026 at 12:09 pm #314316Pics show a square pump on bypass using a single line connector . pulse port is sealed off ..apparently further down the stubby hose.
repumping indicates bad or poor pump operation or air leak tank side. should not be to hard to narrow down. (otherwise fuel would leak somewhere under bulb pressure)

Exactly, and use the proper bypass cover also. That cover is flat on the inside, so does not direct the fuel charge into the ports very well. Use the proper fuel lines, and seal off that pressure port properly.
