Does anyone know of a source or have an extra wheel for the old 1-1/16″ spindle with the single castle nut holding it on? I’m trying to get my old Cherokee boat and trailer road ready, but I’m in need of a wheel in order to have a spare. I thought about changing out to the hubs with lugs but it’s a short spindle and I’m not seeing a kit for those. And no luck finding a wheel. I see some for log splitters but they are 1″ spindle size. Any help would be appreciated

      It's a jungle out there.

I suspect that you will have a problem with this one.  I had a small boat trailer that had the 1″ hub-less wheels. I bought the “log Splitter” spare wheel assembly and discovered that the bearing spacing was different. After de-mounting the tire, had a lathe job to re-bore to the correct spacing.  And another recent encounter with an old trailer with rusted out no-hub wheels ended up reworking for 4 bolt hubs and new wheels.  Even that job required making new longer sleeves for the seals, shortening the spindles about 1/2″ and drilling new cotter pin holes.

Why don’t you just buy a new modern axle and hub assembly and get rid of your obsolete  axle? This way everything is available.

That is what the OP was asking about, but from my expierence with these, one will need to know a few details, like…

                    • tire, wheel size
                    • axle diameter
                    • spacing of the bearings ( distance from cone to cone)

These hubless wheels are not all the same
