      I have a 1983 18hp Mercury that is hard to start first time in the morning. The rest of the day it starts first pull. I have changed the plugs and cleaned out the carb. Any ideas on why it won’t start easy after sitting overnight. My 1958 Mercury Mark 10 starts second pull after sitting.

        I had problems with my 63 200 too until I replaced the choke butterfly. It wasn’t seating on the carb opening correctly.
