We will be soon. At home, and are taking it on a 7 hour trip up north soon to fish the edges of the BWCA. I just got an entry level Lowrance and gear for lake trout trolling. I have to install that and the rod holders next!

my only experience with a similar situation was on my Merc 50hp .. years ago… believe it or not… I found a grommet in the water cavity under the water pump.

it drove me nuts … my 50hp would steam it was so hot at times at idle it was fine at high speed HOT!! the grommet would rise and plug the water flow into the pump.

I have basically left the dark side now but had a 9.8, a 45 hp Classic 50 and a 500 all great motors

I recently worked on a ’84 Merc 7.5 for a friend. I have to say it was an experience getting the carb off. Now I can say I’ve worked on a Merc, at least. I got it running good, but it wasn’t as fun as it should have been!
