I got another B & S coil, same as before. While both coils “ohm” out
pretty much the same specs, the newest one fired off on the Stevens
tester about 2.4 amps, the old one around 3.5.
I’m still not happy with the spark though, which is beginning
to tell me my coil retrofit is not “optimal” for some reason.
Another on the board, did the same retrofit, and said that he
had good spark. He had the coil turned 90 degrees on the laminate
compared to my setup. I can’t imaging that would mater, would it?
The hole in the B&S coil for the laminates is not square, so I’d have
to grind down more on the laminates in order to turn in 90 degrees,
then I’d have a gap on two sides.
Thoughts, good guesses, or brilliant ideas welcomed.
