        Compression – you want 115+ (I prefer 125+)
        Torque – flywheel nut 40 ft lbs

        I have that same motor – it is probably the best one overall I have out of many, and they are great motors.

          Thanks Johnyrude, What really got me excited about this one was the electric start. No more "oh my aching shoulder" I have a real nice set of restored controls for it as well.

            The electric start bracket is more valuable than most of the motor. Everything else is pretty common.

              I just traded an electric starter and bracket from a 61 18hp Evinrude for an electric starter and bracket for a 61 west bend 40. We were both very happy with the deal. I wish I had a box of those J/E brackets. They are in great demand.
