      Well, for the 25 HP, it is the cable wrapped in cloth rope. It is pretty thick. It is in excellent condition so I wanted to re- use it. I could not even get the rope started in the hole much less pull it through with MIG wire. I contacted Rich and he is sending a replacement even tho I (and not him)wrecked the original one he sent. (Thank you Rich).

      He suggested freezing the rope pull, then drilling the hole bigger. I may try that and see what happens.

      Yes. I understand your trouble if you’re using the original cloth covered cable starter cord. Mine has been replaced with solid braid nylon. The covering was shot on my cord so it had to be replaced. Rich is a good guy. Freezing it may just work to drill it out to a larger size. Sounds like a good tip.

        Spraying the rope and the handle bore with a bit of silicon lube will help it slide thru the hole. A figure 8 knot tied on the end of the rope will prevent it from coming undone when you need it most.
