Bought it on a whim for a ten. It’s froze but I know nothing about These. How do I access pulling the flywheel? In fair shape. All there. Just a couple small dents in tank. Paint is faded. Any advise on where to start? Got it face down with some oil in cylinders. Thanks! Just something different to tinker with when time allows.

April 14, 2020 at 9:27 pm #200030If you are asking how to get the tank off, remove the nut and fork from the primer, Remove the clutch lever. Disconnect the gas line. Unbolt the tank and lift it off.

April 15, 2020 at 8:08 am #200038Was wondering more about the flywheel. Took off the recoil and the gears for the recoil cover up 3 screws which I’m assuming are the holes for a flywheel puller? Just didn’t want to mess with all those little springy wires in not necessary. I hope it frees up. Interested to learn more about it. From pics I notice the ignition is not the same as newer j/e’s.

Forgive me if I am wrong, but I think that starter pawl plate comes off in one piece by removing the flywheel nut (??)
April 15, 2020 at 9:00 am #200048Thanks Frank and Crosby man will try when I get home from work. The prop turns even with the motor locked up and that worries me.
