rebuilding scott 5hp, the crank seals on bottom end look like two , one lip facing inside, one out. my parts manual shows nothing on bottom, just top. any one know? seals are falling apart, any numbers would help, none on metal rings. Thanks Jim in Florida

Check, crank lateral play, bad bearings wallow seals out. What vintage?

Don’t know what model you have, but my 3745 has seals top and bottom. TCM part numbers and sizes are noted on this drawing

about a 1953, I haven’t checked numbers, bailer , drawing shows two seal like mine, anyone know facing. seals looked good, just dry rotted.end play seems okay. this motor hasn’t run in twenty years since it set up. guy I got it from said he was Atwater’s nephew. not sure about that.
