Every time a tropical storm went through, we’d get two or three submerged boats/motors in for emergency salvation. Looks like Ian is heading directly toward us (Sarasota FL).

September 27, 2022 at 4:11 pm #266790Frank – keep your head down. Just talked with my brother there in Sarasota last night. Looks like you’ll be at Ground Zero but I’ll be thinking of you guys there in Florida. Let us all know how you’re doing after it blows through.

September 27, 2022 at 5:38 pm #266796Have you been told to evacuate as Ian is supposed to strike Florida as a Cat 4 storm?

Mandatory evacuation of the barrier islands & mobile home parks. The latest forecast puts landfall at Charlotte Harbor, south of here. TV keeps talking about Tampa landfall. Don’t believe everything you hear. Right now, it is calm here, sprinkling rain all day.
September 27, 2022 at 9:07 pm #266810Good luck to you — I lived in Tampa when Andrew at cat 5 danced through the peninsula just south of the city. Although there was a lot of conversation on how bad the damage was going to be, it was much less than expected. I hope Ian treats your friends and family as gently.
Katrina was a different story.
(neither touched my boats).

I suspect there will be a ton of people that will
