Long before ethanol, I have always taken Davids advice, as well as changing the lube in the gear case. This is my latest” Boathouse Tool” for removing the gas. Of coarse you could buy a device to accomplish this. It beats running in a circle, trying to use up the gas, and then holding a motor upside down, over a funnel, trying to get the gas that’s left in the tank into a container. The picture is from a previous attempt. Use what you got. I found this Ray’s bottle worked much better, if you should have this stuff. Link – https://youtu.be/kDO9K2cX72A?si=WwYoi2yWCyt1M_BZ

A "Boathouse Repair" is one thats done without having tools or the skills to do it properly.

I siphon out gas from tanks with a hose, but instead of
sucking on the hose, I use an old sandblast siphon hose
to create the initial suction. Works great.
