      Jason,

Glad to hear you have a runner! Fun motors to run, if a little noisy.

Noise is no problem for us old open stack boat racers – we just shut off our hearing aids

Just wanted to follow-up with a video of the RD-13 out on the water today. Just minor tweaks to the carburetor and it ran pretty darn flawlessly. It’s got a 3-blade bronze prop and it pushed my heavy semi-vee boat (475lb dry weight) at 24 mph. I’m pretty happy with that number. I converted it to a Mikuni diamond shaped fuel pump, as I don’t like having a bunch of tanks with gas at home, and a majority of my motors runs off of a single line.

Back home with the cowlings on. Cowlings had to be repainted and decaled due to a big crack I had to repair on the starboard side.

Thanks, again for the help guys!

You have a great runner there. Great paint job on the cowl too. Maybe you put a new paint job on the entire motor now.

Thanks, guys. It really moves and I am happy with it. The nosiest thing on it is the recoil. The sheave rattles like crazy against the housing. The actual motor is no noisier than my Mercs, so I don’t mind it.

No plans to repaint the rest of it…at least for now. I wanted to keep it original, but the crack in the cowling drove me nuts.

I just watched your video again and that’s a pretty nice runner for a non-runner!

Nothing wrong with that one! Well done.
