A ’55 CD-12. One of the best running motors I own.
In fact, I liked the first one so much, I had to get another one!

now my motor a little newer..but they the same power unite…i paid $150 three years ago and thats when i fell in love my 59 5.5 fisherman golden jubilee…these motors run so smooth quit…and can go almost all year on 3 gallons lol…they should start making them again for a special limited run.

In my opinion a running 5.5 hp Johnson for $100 is a steal especially with the gas tank. Gas tanks that are in working condition with good paint go for over $100 on ebay.
I really like the old Evinrude and Johnson 5.5 hp motors. My 1957 model Evinrude 5.5 hp Fisherman is the best running motor I own and in my opinion the best looking. I really don’t like the looks of the later model motors with the plastic cowling.
